Delhi AIIMS has withdrawn the decision to close OPD services till 2.30 pm on January 22, Pran Pratistha day. Sources from the Ministry of Health gave this information. This means that now OPD will remain operational on Mondays as normal days. Health Ministry sources said all Lady Hardinge, Safdarjung and Ram Manohar Lohia hospitals will remain open even as AIIMS has reversed its decision.
In fact, in view of the consecration of the Ram Temple, it was decided to keep four centrally run hospitals in the capital, including AIIMS, Safdarjung and Ram Manohar Lohia, closed at 2.30 pm on January 22. The opposition had questioned this decision of the Centre. Shiv Sena MP (Uddhav faction) Priyanka Chaturvedi asked if Lord Ram would agree to health services being disrupted to welcome him.
